Stronger together - Wulf Johannsen and NORIS

Wulf Johannsen KG GmbH & Co, Northern Germany's largest OEM-independent service provider for marine engines, drives and control systems, and the automation expert for marine engines NORIS Group have agreed on a strategic partnership for the repair and renewal of old marine engines. Together with August Storm GmbH & Co KG, the companies are launching a refit offensive and will provide shipping companies and shipyards with complete packages as a flexible and cost-effective alternative to the original replacement systems offered by the major engine manufacturers.

Experience in recent years has shown that many shipping companies are struggling with high costs and long layovers when overhauling their fleets. Often the original products are discontinued and spare parts are difficult or impossible to supply. Especially the area of controls and automation is often a big problem, which is often underestimated and overlooked.

Flexible solutions that can be implemented in a timely manner are therefore in demand: Wulf Johannsen and August Storm bring experience and expertise in all aspects of sustainable services for engines, gearboxes and auxiliary systems to the partnership. With its intelligent automation solutions for engines, transmissions and auxiliary systems, NORIS has also been focusing on the subject of refits for some time and already offers ready-made, easily adaptable solutions for many engine types, such as the refit for the WECS 2000 engine control system from Wärtsilä.
